Anderson Hays Cooper is a television journalist and political commentator from the United States of America. He broadcasts a show called Anderson Cooper 360° which airs weeknights at 8 p.m. ET on CNN. Additionally, he has worked as a correspondent for the CBS News program called 60 Minutes. Cooper’s exceptional broadcasting of big news events has earned him a reputation as one of television’s pre-eminent newscasters.  Anderson is also a co-author of the best-selling book known as The Rainbow Comes and Goes. 

Cooper has gained multiple journalisms and Emmy awards. He has also received a National Headliners Award for his tsunami coverage. Additionally, he earned an Emmy Award for his contribution to ABC’s coverage of Princess Diana’s funeral and many other stories. Anderson also received a Bronze Award from the National Educational Film and Video Festival for a report on political Islam. He is also has a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding TV Journalism. He earned it for his 20/20 Downtown report on Corey Johnson who is a high school athlete. Cooper anchors a show called Anderson Cooper 360˚ on CNN. He has also contributed reports to CBS News’ 60 Minutes through an agreement between CNN and CBS News from the 2006 to 2007 season. However, he remains a full-time employee of CNN. 

The journalist joined CNN in December 2001 where he worked as a weekend anchor. He then moved to prime time in March 2003 following the war in Iraq. Afterward, Cooper moved to a two-hour, late evening time slot in November 2005 following Hurricane Katrina. In the years 2007 and 2008, Anderson traveled around the world for Planet in Peril.
