Connie Chung born Constance Yu-Hwa Chung is an American journalist and anchor. She worked as an anchor and reporter for multiple U.S. television networks such as MSNBC, NBC, CNN, CBS, and ABC. In addition, she has interviewed famous people such as Claus von Bulow and U.S. Representative Gary Condit. The journalist has received three Emmy Awards as well as two for Best Interview/Interviewer.
Chung has served as an anchor and reporter for multiple U.S. television networks including MSNBC, NBC, CNN, CBS, and ABC. She managed to interview Magic Johnson, the basketball legend after he went public about being HIV-positive.
In the year 1993, she became the only second woman to co-anchor a network newscast as part of CBS Evening News. However, Connie was removed as CBS Evening News co-anchor after a controversial interview with a fireman during rescue efforts at the Oklahoma City bombing in the year 1995.
She also served at NBC but left the station in 1989 for SCB where she served as a host for Saturday Nite with Connie Chung. The show was later renamed Face to Face with Connie Chung.
In the year 1997, the news personality joined ABC News. While there, she worked as a reporter on 20/20 and co-host of the Monday edition of the program alongside Charles Gibson. Moreover, the journalist also worked on CNN where she hosted her own show known as Connie Chung Tonight. However, the show was suspended in the year 2003 when the Iraq War started.
